For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.

Скінчи́лись молитви Давида, сина Єссе́я.

My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.

For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.

Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.

When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God.

І небо хвалитиме, Господи, чудо Твоє, також вірність Твою на зібра́нні святих,

бо хто в небі поді́бний до Господа? Хто подібний до Господа серед Божих синів?

Блаже́нний наро́д, що знає він поклик святковий, — Господи, вони ходять у світлі обличчя Твого!

¶ But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.

Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.

All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.

Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.

Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.

Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.

The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.

впаде тисяча з боку від тебе, і десять тисяч право́руч від тебе, до тебе ж не ді́йде!

як він Мене кли́катиме, то йому відповім, Я з ним буду в недолі, врятую його та просла́влю його,

¶ Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;

That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.

In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
