AI Beta Terms · Last updated May 2, 2026 · Agreement v2

The deal for the AI Bible study companion.

1.The Beta period

The AI Bible study companion is in free public Beta. The Beta runs for approximately two months from the public-launch date, after which we'll either continue under the same terms, narrow them, or transition the service. We'll post any change here and re-present the agreement in-app whenever the version below is bumped.

Daily caps during Beta: 10 conversations × 10 turns / day. Caps may be tightened (if abuse) or relaxed (if the budget allows) without notice.

2.Account & sign-in

Sign-in uses Google's GIS one-tap. We receive only the standard openid email profile claims (Google sub-id, email, name, profile picture). We never receive contact lists, calendar, Drive, or any other Google scopes.

The account exists for usage limits and conversation history. See the email policy below; we don't sell your data.

3.Email policy — we don't email you

No welcome email. No newsletter. No drip campaign, no “we miss you,” no feature announcements, no marketing of any kind. Your email address is stored only so the account can be identified across sign-ins; it is not used as an outbound contact channel.

The only exceptions, if they ever become necessary:

  • A critical security notice (e.g. confirmed unauthorized access to your account).
  • A material change to these Beta terms or our handling of your data, where we are legally required to notify you and an in-app banner is insufficient.
  • A direct, individual reply if you email us first at [email protected].

That's the entire list. If we ever need to send something in any of the categories above, it will be plain-text, one-time, and contain no marketing copy.

4.AI is AI — verify important claims

The AI companion uses Google Gemini and can be wrong. We've engineered it to be grounded in our curated database (commentary, Strong's, cross-references, Matthew Henry, patristic quotes) — but model output is still model output. Treat answers as a starting point, not as authoritative. Verify every important claim with the cited Scripture and commentary sources before you teach, decide, or publish from it.

The AI is not a substitute for clinical, legal, financial, or pastoral counseling. Don't use it as one.

5.Data handling & Google Gemini paid tier

Your questions and the AI's answers are processed by Google Gemini's paid API tier. Per Google's Gemini API Additional Terms of Service for paid usage, Google does not use paid-tier API content to train their models. Content transits Google's infrastructure to generate the response and may be retained briefly for abuse monitoring per Google's terms.

On our side: we store your questions and the AI's responses, encrypted at rest, plus per-conversation metadata, until you delete them or your account — that's what lets you reopen and continue a conversation from any device. During Beta we may review the AI's responses internally to debug quality, identify abuse, and improve our prompts and tools; our admin tools never display your questions — review is answers-only by policy. The AI's responses are never made public. After Beta this review clause is reviewed and either narrowed or removed.

Sensitive personal information (medical records, financial details, anything you wouldn't share with a stranger) shouldn't be in conversations. Treat the conversation pane like a public-facing tool, not a private journal.

6.Beta means we're tweaking

The system prompt, model selection, tool inventory, UI, daily caps, and even the biblical-worldview rules can change during Beta without notice. If you build a workflow on top of a specific behavior, expect that behavior to drift.

7.Deleting your data

  • Per-conversation: from /account/conversations — single click + confirm; hard-deletes the conversation row and all its messages.
  • Bulk: "Delete all conversations" on the same page wipes every conversation tied to your account.
  • Whole account: from /account — soft-deletes the user row, hard-deletes sessions and PII columns. Past conversations remain in our database for the internal debug audit trail but are no longer linked to you.

8.What this agreement isn't

This isn't a commercial contract; nothing here grants you a license to redistribute AI-generated answers commercially or to scrape the service. The site Terms still apply on top of these Beta-specific clauses.

9.Updates to these terms

When we update these terms we bump the version below, and the in-app modal re-appears at your next visit so you can re-accept (or decline and sign out). The "Last Updated" date at the top is the source of truth.
