  13. For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt: I mourn; dismay hath taken hold on me.

  14. Is there no balm in Gilead? is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?

  15. Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

  16. Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging-place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.

  17. Remember, O Jehovah, what is come upon us: Behold, and see our reproach.

  19. We are orphans and fatherless; Our mothers are as widows.

  20. We have drunken our water for money; Our wood is sold unto us.

  21. Our pursuers are upon our necks: We are weary, and have no rest.

  22. We have given the hand to the Egyptians, And to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

  23. Our fathers sinned, and are not; And we have borne their iniquities.

  24. Servants rule over us: There is none to deliver us out of their hand.

  25. We get our bread at the peril of our lives, Because of the sword of the wilderness.
