  1. Then one of the twelue, called Iudas Iscariot, went vnto the chiefe Priestes,

  2. And said, What will ye giue me, and I will deliuer him vnto you? and they appoynted vnto him thirtie pieces of siluer.

  3. And from that time, he sought opportunitie to betraie him.

  4. Rise, let vs goe: beholde, hee is at hande that betraieth me.

  5. And while hee yet spake, loe Iudas, one of the twelue, came, and with him a great multitude with swordes and staues, from the high Priests and Elders of the people.

  6. Now he that betraied him, had giuen them a token, saying, Whomesoeuer I shall kisse, that is he, laie holde on him.

  7. And forthwith he came to Iesus, and sayd, God saue thee, Master, and kissed him.

  8. Then Iesus sayde vnto him, Friende, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laide hands on Iesus, and tooke him.

  9. Then Iudas Iscariot, one of the twelue, went away vnto the hie Priestes, to betray him vnto them.

  10. And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised that they woulde giue him monie: therefore he sought howe he might conueniently betraie him.

  11. And immediatly while hee yet spake, came Iudas that was one of the twelue, and with him a great multitude with swordes and staues from the hie Priests, and Scribes, and Elders.

  12. And he that betraied him, had giuen them a token, saying, Whomsoeuer I shall kisse, he it is: take him and leade him away safely.

  13. And assoone as hee was come, hee went straightway to him, and saide, Haile Master, and kissed him.

  14. Then entred Satan into Iudas, who was called Iscariot, and was of the nomber of the twelue.

  15. And he went his way, and communed with the hie Priestes and captaines, how he might betray him to them.

  16. So they were glad, and agreed to giue him money.

  17. And he consented, and sought opportunitie to betraye him vnto them, when the people were away.

  18. Yet beholde, the hand of him that betrayeth me, is with me at the table.

  19. And truely the Sonne of man goeth as it is appointed: but woe be to that man, by whom he is betrayed.

  20. Then they began to enquire among themselues which of them it should be, that should do that.

  21. And while he yet spake, beholde, a companie, and he that was called Iudas one of the twelue, went before them, and came neere vnto Iesus to kisse him.

  22. And Iesus saide vnto him, Iudas, betrayest thou the Sonne of man with a kisse?

  23. And when supper was done (and that the deuill had now put in the heart of Iudas Iscariot, Simons sonne, to betray him)

  24. And after the soppe, Satan entred into him. Then sayd Iesus vnto him, That thou doest, doe quickly.

  25. But none of them that were at table, knew, for what cause he spake it vnto him.
