Bible Verses About Man
Key Bible Verses
This is the book of the generation of Adam. In the day that God created man, he made him to the likeness of God.
He created them male and female; and blessed them: and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
And let the fear and dread of you be upon all the beasts of the earth, and upon all the fowls of the air, and all that move upon the earth: all the fishes of the sea are delivered into your hand.
And every thing that moveth, and liveth shall be meat for you: even as the green herbs have I delivered them all to you:
Behold, they that serve him are not steadfast, and in his angels he found wickedness:
How much more shall they that dwell in houses of clay, who have an earthly foundation, be consumed as with the moth?
From morning till evening they shall be cut down: and because no one understandeth, they shall perish for ever.
And they that shall be left, shall be taken away from them: they shall die, and not in wisdom.
I will say to God: Do not condemn me: tell me why thou judgest me so?
Doth it seem good to thee that thou shouldst calumniate me, and oppress me, the work of thy own hands, and help the counsel of the wicked?
Thy hands have made me, and fashioned me wholly round about, and dost thou thus cast me down headlong on a sudden?
Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay, and thou wilt bring me into dust
Hast thou not milked me as milk, and curdled me like cheese?
Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh: thou hast put me together with bones and sinews:
Can man be compared with God, even though he were of perfect knowledge?
What doth it profit God if thou be just? or what dost thou give him if thy way be unspotted?
Shall he reprove thee for fear, and come with thee into judgment:
And not for thy manifold wickedness and thy infinite iniquities?
Can man be justified compared with God, or he that is born of a woman appear clean?
Behold even the moon doth not shine, and the stars are not pure in his sight.
How much more is man than rottenness and the son of man than a worm?
Doth thy thought seem right to thee, that thou shouldst say: I am more just than God?
For thou saidst: That which is right doth not please thee: or what will it profit thee if I sin?
Therefore I will answer thy words, and thy friends with thee.
Look up to heaven and see, and behold the sky, that it is higher than thee.
