  1. And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for there was an interpreter between them.

  2. And he turned himself about from them, and wept; and he returned to them, and spake to them, and took Simeon from among them, and bound him before their eyes.

  10. we are twelve brethren, sons of our father; one is not, and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan.

  11. And the man, the lord of the land, said unto us, Hereby shall I know that ye are true men: leave one of your brethren with me, and take grain for the famine of your houses, and go your way;

  12. and bring your youngest brother unto me: then shall I know that ye are no spies, but that ye are true men: so will I deliver you your brother, and ye shall traffic in the land.

  13. Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

  14. And ye shall observe all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them: I am Jehovah.

  15. And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

  16. And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.

  17. And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: silver was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.

  18. For the king had ships that went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram; once every three years came the ships of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

  19. So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

  20. They that go down to the sea in ships, That do business in great waters;

  21. These see the works of Jehovah, And his wonders in the deep.

  22. For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, Which lifteth up the waves thereof.

  23. They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths: Their soul melteth away because of trouble.

  24. They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits’ end.

  25. Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he bringeth them out of their distresses.
