  8. He closed the scroll, gave it back to the shammash, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.

  9. He began to tell them, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

  10. But he said to them, “I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent.”

  11. Yeshua said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

  12. saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”

  13. Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.

  14. Herod and Pilate became friends with each other that very day, for before that they were enemies with each other.

  15. Yeshua said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots.

  16. He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,

  17. Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.

  18. saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

  19. While he blessed them, he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven.

  20. He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.

  21. The Passover in Judea was at hand, and Yeshua went up to Jerusalem.

  22. He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.

  23. He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables.

  24. To those who sold the doves, he said, “Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a marketplace!”

  25. His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will eat me up.”
