Вони па́щі свої роззявля́ють на мене, б'ють гане́бно по що́ках мене, збираються ра́зом на мене:

Бог злочи́нцеві видав мене, і кинув у руки безбожних мене́.

Спокійний я був, — та тремтя́чим мене Він зробив. І за шию вхопи́в Він мене — й розторо́щив мене, та й поставив мене Собі ціллю:

Його стрі́льці мене оточи́ли, розриває нирки́ мої Він не жалі́вши, мою жовч виливає на землю.

Він робить пролі́м на проло́мі в мені, Він на мене біжить, як сила́ч.

Вере́ту пошив я на шкіру свою та під по́рох знизи́в свою го́лову.

Зашарі́лось обличчя моє від плачу́, й на пові́ках моїх залягла́ смертна тінь,

Повні кості його молоде́чости, — та до по́роху з ним вона ляже!

Ти ви́тягнеш з па́стки мене, що на мене тає́мно поста́вили, — бо Ти сила моя!

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.

For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.

бо це право Ізраїлеві, Зако́н Бога Якова!

If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;

If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;

Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

Ти границю поклав, щоб її вона не перейшла́, щоб вона не верну́лася землю покрити.

Він джере́ла пускає в пото́ки, що пливуть між гора́ми,

Хто мудрий, той все це завва́жить, — і пізна́ють вони́ милосердя Господнє!

Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

¶ I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
