  1. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

  2. Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

  3. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

  4. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

  5. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

  6. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

  7. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

  8. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

  9. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

  10. (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

  11. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

  12. ¶ Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

  13. And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

  14. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

  15. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

  16. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

  17. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

  18. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

  19. Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

  20. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

  21. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

  22. ¶ Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

  23. Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

  24. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

  25. ¶ Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
