  1. Therefore watche, and remember, that by the space of three yeres I ceased not to warne euery one, both night and day with teares.

  2. For if God spared not the naturall branches, take heede, least he also spare not thee.

  3. And that, considering the season, that it is now time that we should arise from sleepe: for now is our saluation neerer, then when we beleeued it.

  4. And this I say, brethren, because the time is short, hereafter that both they which haue wiues, be as though they had none:

  5. And they that weepe, as though they wept not: and they that reioyce, as though they reioyced not: and they that bye, as though they possessed not:

  6. And they that vse this worlde, as though they vsed it not: for the fashion of this worlde goeth away.

  7. But I beate downe my body, and bring it into subiection, lest by any meanes after that I haue preached to other, I my selfe should be reproued.

  8. Wherefore, let him that thinketh he standeth, take heede lest he fall.

  9. Let euery man therefore examine himselfe, and so let him eate of this bread, and drinke of this cup.

  10. Watch ye: stand fast in the faith: quite you like men, and be strong.

  11. In wearinesse and painefulnesse, in watching often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in colde and in nakednesse.

  12. Brethren, if a man be suddenly taken in any offence, ye which are spirituall, restore such one with the spirit of meekenes, considering thy selfe, least thou also be tempted.

  13. Take heede therefore that yee walke circumspectly, not as fooles, but as wise,

  14. And pray alwayes with all maner prayer and supplication in the Spirit: and watch thereunto with all perseuerance and supplication for al Saints,

  15. Beware of dogges: beware of euil workers: beware of the concision.

  16. Let your patient minde be knowen vnto all men. The Lord is at hand.

  17. Continue in prayer, and watch in the fame with thankesgiuing,

  18. And say to Archippus, Take heede to the ministerie, that thou hast receiued in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.

  19. But ye, brethren, are not in darkenes, that that day shall come on you, as it were a thiefe.

  20. Therefore let vs not sleepe as do other, but let vs watch and be sober.

  21. For they that sleepe, sleepe in the night, and they that be drunken, are drunken in the night.

  22. Try all things, and keepe that which is good.

  23. Take heede vnto thy selfe, and vnto learning: continue therein: for in doing this thou shalt both saue thy selfe, and them that heare thee.

  24. But watch thou in all thinges: suffer aduersitie: doe the worke of an Euangelist: cause thy ministerie to be throughly liked of.

  25. Wherefore wee ought diligently to giue heede to the thinges which wee haue heard, lest at any time we runne out.
