  1. Therefore be alert and remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.

  14. Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints.

  15. Watch out for those dogs, those workers of evil, those mutilators of the flesh!

  16. Let your gentleness be apparent to all. The Lord is near.

  17. Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful,

  18. Tell Archippus: “See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.”

  19. But you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief.

  20. So then, let us not sleep as the others do, but let us remain awake and sober.

  21. For those who sleep, sleep at night; and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.

  22. but test all things. Hold fast to what is good.

  23. Pay close attention to your life and to your teaching. Persevere in these things, for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

  24. But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

  25. We must pay closer attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.
