Bible Verses About Watchfulness
Key Bible Verses
Therefore watch, keeping in memory that for three years I ceased not with tears to admonish every one of you, night and day.
For if God hath not spared the natural branches, fear lest perhaps also he spare not thee.
And that, knowing the season, that it is now the hour for us to rise from sleep. For now our salvation is nearer than when we believed.
This therefore I say, brethren: The time is short. It remaineth, that they also who have wives be as if they had none:
And they that weep, as though they wept not: and they that rejoice, as if they rejoiced not: and they that buy as if they possessed not:
And they that use this world, as if they used it not. For the fashion of this world passeth away.
But I chastise my body and bring it into subjection: lest perhaps, when I have preached to others, I myself should become a castaway.
Wherefore, he that thinketh himself to stand, let him take heed lest he fall.
But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread and drink of the chalice.
Watch ye: stand fast in the faith: do manfully and be strengthened.
In labour and painfulness, in much watchings, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness:
Brethren, and if a man be overtaken in any fault, you, who are spiritual, instruct such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
See therefore, brethren, how you walk circumspectly: not as unwise,
By all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the spirit: and in the same watching with all instance and supplication for all the saints:
Beware of dogs: beware of evil workers: beware of the concision.
Let your modesty be known to all men. The Lord is nigh.
Be instant in prayer: watching in it with thanksgiving.
And say to Archippus: Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief.
Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do: but let us watch, and be sober.
For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that are drunk, are drunk in the night.
But prove all things: hold fast that which is good.
Take heed to thyself and to doctrine: be earnest in them. For in doing this thou shalt both save thyself and them that hear thee.
But be thou vigilant, labour in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry. Be sober.
Therefore ought we more diligently to observe the things which we have heard lest perhaps we should let them slip.
