  1. Take heede, brethren, least at any time there be in any of you an euill heart, and vnfaithfull, to depart away from the liuing God.

  2. Take heede, that no man fall away from the grace of God: let no roote of bitternes spring vp and trouble you, lest thereby many be defiled.

  3. Obey them that haue the ouersight of you, and submit your selues: for they watche for your soules, as they that must giue accountes, that they may doe it with ioy, and not with griefe: for that is vnprofitable for you.

  4. Wherefore, girde vp the Ioynes of your minde: bee sober, and trust perfectly on that grace that is brought vnto you, in the reuelation of Iesus Christ,

  6. Now the ende of all things is at hand. Be ye therefore sober, and watching in prayer.

  7. Be sober, and watch: for your aduersarie the deuil as a roaring lyon walketh about, seeking whom he may deuoure:

  8. We haue also a most sure worde of the Prophets, to the which ye doe well that yee take heede, as vnto a light that shineth in a darke place, vntill the day dawne, and the day starre arise in your hearts.

  9. Ye therefore beloued, seeing ye know these thinges before, beware, lest ye be also plucked away with the errour of the wicked, and fall from your owne stedfastnesse.

  10. We know that whosoeuer is borne of God, sinneth not: but he that is begotten of God, keepeth himselfe, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

  11. Looke to your selues, that we lose not the things which we haue done, but that we may receiue full reward.

  12. But, yee beloued, edifie your selues in your most holy faith, praying in the holy Ghost,

  13. And keepe your selues in the loue of God, looking for the mercie of our Lord Iesus Christ, vnto eternall life.

  14. Be awake, and strengthen the things which remaine, that are readie to die: for I haue not found thy workes perfite before God.

  15. Remember therefore, how thou hast receiued and heard, and hold fast and repent. If therefore thou wilt not watch, I will come on thee as a thiefe, and thou shalt not know what houre I wil come vpon thee.

  16. Beholde, I come shortly: holde that which thou hast, that no man take thy crowne.

  17. (Beholde, I come as a theefe. Blessed is he that watcheth and keepeth his garments, least hee walke naked, and men see his filthines)
