  1. And the second lot came forth for the children of Simeon by their kindreds: and their inheritance was

  2. In the midst of the possession of the children of Juda: Bersabee and Sabee and Molada

  5. And Siceleg and Bethmarchaboth and Hasersusa,

  6. And Bethlebaoth and Sarohen: thirteen cities, and their villages.

  8. And all the villages round about these cities to Baalath Beer Ramath to the south quarter. This is the inheritance of the children of Simeon according to their kindreds,

  9. And Juda said to Simeon, his brother: Come up with me into my lot, and fight against the Chanaanite, that I also may go along with thee into thy lot. And Simeon went with him.

  10. And Juda went with Simeon, his brother, and they together defeated the Chanaanites that dwelt in Sephaath, and slew them. And the name of the city was called Horma, that is, Anathema.

  15. Their towns also were Etam, and Aen, Remmon, and Thochen, and Asan, five cities.

  16. And all their villages round about these cities as far as Baal. This was their habitation, and the distribution of their dwellings.

  17. And they went forth to enter into Gador as far as to the east side of the valley, to seek pastures for their flocks.

  18. And they found fat pastures, and very good, and a country spacious, and quiet, and fruitful, in which some of the race of Cham had dwelt before.

  19. And these whose names are written above, came in the days of Ezechias king of Juda: and they beat down their tents, and slew the inhabitants that were found there, and utterly destroyed them unto this day: and they dwelt in their place, because they found there fat pastures.

  20. Some also of the children of Simeon, five hundred men, went into mount Seir, having for their captains Phaltias and Naaria and Raphaia and Oziel the sons of Jesi:

  21. And they slew the remnant of the Amalecites, who had been able to escape, and they dwelt there in their stead unto this day.

  22. Of the sons of Simeon valiant men for war, seven thousand one hundred.

  23. Now the chiefs over the tribes of Israel were these: over the Rubenites, Eliezer the son of Zechri was ruler: over the Simeonites, Saphatias the son of Maacha:

  24. And he gathered together all Juda and Benjamin, and the strangers with them of Ephraim, and Manasses, and Simeon: for many were come over to him out of Israel, seeing that the Lord his God was with him.

  25. And in the cities of Manasses, and of Ephraim, and of Simeon, even to Nephtali he demolished all.
