Bible Verses About The Pharisees
Key Bible Verses
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for his immersion, he said to them, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, there is no way you will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
When the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, “Why does your rabbi eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
But the Pharisees said, “By the prince of the demons, he casts out demons.”
But the Pharisees went out, and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, “This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered, “Rabbi, we want to see a sign from you.”
But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
Then the disciples came, and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended, when they heard this saying?”
The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
Yeshua said to them, “Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
How is it that you don’t perceive that I didn’t speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Pharisees came to him, testing him, and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”
When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke about them.
When they sought to seize him, they feared the multitudes, because they considered him to be a prophet.
Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.
They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Rabbi, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach, for you aren’t partial to anyone.
One of them, a Torah scholar, asked him a question, testing him.
For they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not lift a finger to help them.
But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their tefillin broad, enlarge the fringes of their garments,
and love the place of honor at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,
the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi, Rabbi’ by men.
But don’t you be called ‘Rabbi,’ for one is your Rabbi, the Messiah, and all of you are brothers.
Call no man on the earth your father, for one is your Father, he who is in heaven.
