  11. For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

  12. They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

  13. For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.

  14. I tell you, you will by no means get out of there, until you have paid the very last penny. ”

  15. There arose also a contention among them, which of them was considered to be greatest.

  16. Therefore when Paul and Barnabas had no small discord and discussion with them, they appointed Paul and Barnabas, and some others of them, to go up to Jerusalem to the emissaries and elders about this question.

  17. Then the contention grew so sharp that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him, and sailed away to Cyprus,

  18. When he had said this, an argument arose between the Pharisees and Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.

  19. but to those who are self-seeking, and don’t obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, will be wrath and indignation,

  20. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.

  21. Let us walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.

  22. Now accept one who is weak in faith, but not for disputes over opinions.

  23. So then, let us follow after things which make for peace, and things by which we may build one another up.

  24. It is good to not eat meat, drink wine, nor do anything by which your brother stumbles, is offended, or is made weak.

  25. Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them.
