  1. Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, “Carry there one of the priests whom you brought from there; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the law of the god of the land.”

  2. So one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and lived in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.

  3. Sing to the LORD, all the earth! Display his salvation from day to day.

  4. Declare his glory among the nations, and his marvelous works among all the peoples.

  12. Ascribe to the LORD, you families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

  13. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come into his courts.

  14. Worship the LORD in holy array. Tremble before him, all the earth.

  15. Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns.” The world is also established. It can’t be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.

  16. Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice. Let the sea roar, and its fullness!

  17. Let the field and all that is in it exult! Then all the trees of the woods shall sing for joy

  18. before the LORD; for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, the peoples with his truth.

  19. I will tell the north, ‘Give them up!’ and tell the south, ‘Don’t hold them back! Bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth—

  20. everyone who is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, yes, whom I have made.’”

  21. the LORD’s word came to Jonah the second time, saying,

  22. “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and proclaim to it the message that I give you.”

  23. So Jonah arose, and went to Nineveh, according to the LORD’s word. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, three days’ journey across.

  24. Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried out, and said, “In forty days, Nineveh will be overthrown!”

  25. The people of Nineveh believed God; and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from their greatest even to their least.
