  1. Walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

  9. I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Sheol will not prevail against it.

  10. Peter took him aside, and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This will never be done to you.”

  11. But he turned, and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of men.”

  12. After six days, Yeshua took with him Peter, Jacob, and Yochanan his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves.

  13. Peter answered, and said to Yeshua, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let’s make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

  14. When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your rabbi pay the didrachma?”

  15. He said, “Yes.” When he came into the house, Yeshua anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”

  16. Peter said to him, “From strangers.” Yeshua said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt.

  17. Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?”

  18. Then Peter answered, “Behold, we have left everything, and followed you. What then will we have?”

  19. But Peter answered him, “Even if all will be made to stumble because of you, I will never be made to stumble.”

  20. Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you.” All of the disciples also said likewise.

  21. He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and severely troubled.

  22. He came to the disciples, and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What, couldn’t you watch with me for one hour?

  23. But Peter followed him from a distance, to the court of the high priest, and entered in and sat with the officers, to see the end.

  24. Now Peter was sitting outside in the court, and a maid came to him, saying, “You were also with Yeshua, the Galilean!”

  25. After a little while those who stood by came and said to Peter, “Surely you are also one of them, for your speech makes you known.”
