  1. But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Yeshua’s knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.”

  2. and so also were Jacob and Yochanan, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Yeshua said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid. From now on you will be catching people alive.”

  4. Yeshua said, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’

  5. When he came to the house, he didn’t allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, Yochanan, Jacob, the father of the child, and her mother.

  6. He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “The Messiah of God.”

  7. About eight days after these sayings, he took with him Peter, Yochanan, and Jacob, and went up onto the mountain to pray.

  8. Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.

  9. As they were parting from him, Peter said to Yeshua, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let’s make three tents: one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah,” not knowing what he said.

  10. Peter said to him, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everybody?”

  11. Peter said, “Look, we have left everything, and followed you.”

  12. He sent Peter and Yochanan, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”

  13. The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat,

  14. He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.”

  15. They seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed from a distance.

  16. When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.

  17. After a little while someone else saw him, and said, “You also are one of them!” But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”

  18. But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

  19. The Lord turned, and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the Lord’s word, how he said to him, “Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times.”

  20. He went out, and wept bitterly.

  21. But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.

  22. saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

  23. One of the two who heard Yochanan, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

  24. He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which is, being interpreted, Anointed One ).

  25. He brought him to Yeshua. Yeshua looked at him, and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Kefa ” (which is by interpretation, Peter).
