  1. He said, “No; but I have come now as commander of the LORD’s army.” Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and worshiped, and said to him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”

  2. The prince of the LORD’s army said to Joshua, “Take your shoes off of your feet; for the place on which you stand is holy.” Joshua did so.

  6. The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his Anointed, saying,

  7. “Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”

  8. Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.

  9. You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

  10. Lift up your heads, you gates! Be lifted up, you everlasting doors, and the King of glory will come in.

  11. Who is the King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle.

  12. Lift up your heads, you gates; yes, lift them up, you everlasting doors, and the King of glory will come in.

  13. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of Hosts is the King of glory! Selah.

  14. Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.

  15. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

  16. By me princes rule; nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.

  17. He said, “Go, and tell this people, ‘You hear indeed, but don’t understand; and you see indeed, but don’t perceive.’

  18. Make the heart of this people fat. Make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.”

  19. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

  20. His delight will be in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears;

  21. but with righteousness he will judge the poor, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.

  22. Righteousness will be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his waist.

  23. “I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and make you a covenant for the people, as a light for the nations;

  24. to open the blind eyes, to bring the prisoners out of the dungeon, and those who sit in darkness out of the prison.

  25. Thus says the LORD, “Where is the bill of your mother’s divorce, with which I have put her away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities were you sold, and for your transgressions was your mother put away.
