  1. Hee tooke his brother by the heele in the wombe, and by his strength he had power with God,

  2. And had power ouer the Angel, and preuailed: he wept and praied vnto him: he founde him in Beth-el, and there he spake with vs.

  8. Then spet they in his face, and buffeted him, and other smote him with roddes,

  9. If ye had knowen mee, ye should haue knowen my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and haue seene him.

  10. Philippe sayd vnto him, Lord, shewe vs thy Father, and it sufficeth vs.

  11. Iesus sayd vnto him, I haue bene so long time with you, and hast thou not knowen mee, Philippe? he that hath seene me, hath seene my Father: how then sayest thou, Shewe vs thy Father?

  12. Beleeuest thou not, that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The wordes that I speake vnto you, I speake not of my selfe: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the workes.

  17. For the repairing of the Saintes, for the woorke of the ministerie, and for the edification of the bodie of Christ,

  18. Till we all meete together (in the vnitie of faith and that acknowledging of the Sonne of God) vnto a perfite man, and vnto the measure of the age of the fulnesse of Christ,

  19. Husbands, loue your wiues, euen as Christ loued the Church, and gaue himselfe for it,

  20. That hee might sanctifie it, and clense it by the washing of water through the worde,

  21. That hee might make it vnto him selfe a glorious Church, not hauing spot or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it shoulde bee holy and without blame.

  22. So ought men to loue their wiues, as their owne bodies: he that loueth his wife, loueth him selfe.

  23. For no man euer yet hated his owne flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, euen as the Lord doeth the Church.

  24. For we are members of his bodie, of his flesh, and of his bones.

  25. For this cause shall a man leaue father and mother, and shall cleaue to his wife, and they twaine shalbe one flesh.
