  1. For they that are such serve not Christ our Lord but their own belly: and by pleasing speeches and good words seduce the hearts of the innocent.

  7. For, whereas there is among you envying and contention, are you not carnal and walk you not according to man?

  8. For while one saith: I indeed am of Paul: and another: I am of Apollo: are you not men? What then is Apollo and what is Paul?

  9. But these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollo, for your sakes: that in us you may learn that one be not puffed up against the other for another, above that which is written.

  10. For who distinguisheth thee? Or what hast thou that thou hast not received, and if thou hast received, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

  11. Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to be judged before the unjust: and not before the saints?

  12. Know you not that the saints shall judge this world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

  13. Know you not that we shall judge angels? How much more things of this world?

  14. If therefore you have judgments of things pertaining to this world, set them to judge who are the most despised in the church.

  15. I speak to your shame. Is it so that there is not among you any one wise man that is able to judge between his brethren?

  16. But brother goeth to law with brother: and that before unbelievers.

  17. Already indeed there is plainly a fault among you, that you have law suits one with another. Why do you not rather take wrong? Why do you not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

  18. But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor the Church of God.

  19. Now this I ordain: not praising you, that you come together, not for the better, but for the worse.

  20. For first of all I hear that when you come together in the church, there are schisms among you. And in part I believe it.

  21. For there must be also heresies: that they also, who are approved may be made manifest among you.

  22. For I fear lest perhaps, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found by you such as you would not. Lest perhaps contentions, envyings, animosities, dissensions, detractions, whisperings, swellings, seditions, be among you.

  23. I have confidence in you in the Lord that you will not be of another mind: but he that troubleth you shall bear the judgment, whosoever he be.

  24. But if you bite and devour one another: take heed you be not consumed one of another.

  25. Now the works of the flesh are manifest: which are fornication, uncleanness, immodesty, luxury,
