  1. Seek ye the Lord, and live: lest the house of Joseph be burnt with fire, and it shall devour, and there shall be none to quench Bethel.

  12. Then Jesus saith to him: Begone, Satan: for it is written: The Lord thy God shalt thou adore, and him only shalt thou serve.

  13. And when ye pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, that love to stand and pray in the synagogues and corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men: Amen I say to you, they have received their reward.

  14. But thou when thou shalt pray, enter into thy chamber, and having shut the door, pray to thy Father in secret, and thy father who seeth in secret will repay thee.

  15. And when you are praying, speak not much, as the heathens. For they think that in their much speaking they may be heard.

  16. Be not you therefore like to them for your Father knoweth what is needful for you, before you ask him.

  17. Thus therefore shall you pray: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

  18. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

  19. Give us this day our supersubstantial bread.

  20. And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.

  21. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen.

  22. Seek ye therefore first the kingdom of God, and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.

  23. Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and you shall find: knock, and it shall be opened to you.

  24. For every one that asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

  25. Or what man is there among you, of whom if his son shall ask bread, will he reach him a stone?
