Or if he shall ask him a fish, will he reach him a serpent?
If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more will your Father who is in heaven, give good things to them that ask him?
And when he had commanded the multitude to sit down upon the grass, he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.
And behold a woman of Canaan who came out of those coasts, crying out, said to him: Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David: my daughter is grievously troubled by a devil.
Who answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying: Send her away, for she crieth after us:
And he answering, said: I was not sent but to the sheep, that are lost of the house of Israel.
But she came and adored him, saying: Lord, help me.
Who answering, said: It is not good to take the bread of the children, and to cast it to the dogs.
But she said: Yea, Lord; for the whelps also eat of the crumbs that fall from the table of their masters.
Then Jesus answering, said to her: O woman, great is thy faith: be it done to thee as thou wilt: and her daughter was cured from that hour.
And taking the seven loaves and the fishes, and giving thanks, he brake, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples gave to the people.
Again I say to you, that if two of you shall consent upon earth, concerning anything whatsoever they shall ask, it shall be done to them by my Father who is in heaven.
For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
And all things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer believing, you shall receive.
And whilst they were at supper, Jesus took bread and blessed and broke and gave to his disciples and said: Take ye and eat. This is my body.
And taking the chalice, he gave thanks and gave to them, saying: Drink ye all of this.
And going a little further, he fell upon his face, praying and saying: My Father, if it be possible, let this chalice pass from me. Nevertheless, not as I will but as thou wilt.
And when he had taken the five loaves, and the two fishes: looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave to his disciples to set before them: and the two fishes he divided among them all.
For a woman as soon as she heard of him, whose daughter had an unclean spirit, came in and fell down at his feet.
For the woman was a Gentile, a Syrophenician born. And she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
Who said to her: suffer first the children to be filled: for it is not good to take the bread of the children and cast it to the dogs.
But she answered and said to him: Yea, Lord; for the whelps also eat under the table of the crumbs of the children.
And he said to her: For this saying, go thy way. The devil is gone out of thy daughter.
And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground. And taking the seven loaves, giving thanks, he broke and gave to his disciples for to set before them. And they set them before the people.
And they had a few little fishes: and he blessed them and commanded them to be set before them.
