  1. Seeke the Lord, and yee shall liue, least he breake out like fire in the house of Ioseph and deuoure it, and there be none to quench it in Beth-el.

And I will powre vpon the house of Dauid, and vpon the inhabitants of Ierusalem the Spirite of grace and of compassion, and they shall looke vpon me, whom they haue pearced, and they shall lament for him, as one mourneth for his onely sonne, and be sorie for him as one is sorie for his first borne.

  11. And I will bring that third part thorowe the fire, and will fine them as the siluer is fined, and will trye them as golde is tryed: they shall call on my Name, and I will heare them: I will say, It is my people, and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

  12. Then sayd Iesus vnto him, Auoyde Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him onely shalt thou serue.

  13. And when thou prayest, be not as the hypocrites: for they loue to stand, and pray in the Synagogues, and in the corners of the streetes, because they would be seene of men. Verely I say vnto you, they haue their rewarde.

  14. But when thou prayest, enter into thy chamber and when thou hast shut thy doore, pray vnto thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret, shall rewarde thee openly.

  15. Also when ye pray, vse no vaine repetitions as the Heathen: for they thinke to be heard for their much babbling.

  16. Be ye not like them therefore: for your Father knoweth whereof ye haue neede, before ye aske of him.

  17. After this maner therefore pray ye, Our father which art in heauen, halowed be thy name.

  18. Thy Kingdome come. Thy will be done euen in earth, as it is in heauen.

  19. Giue vs this day our dayly bread.

  20. And forgiue vs our dettes, as we also forgiue our detters.

  21. And leade vs not into tentation, but deliuer vs from euill: for thine is the kingdome, and the power, and the glorie for euer. Amen.

  22. But seeke ye first the kingdome of God, and his righteousnesse, and all these things shall be ministred vnto you.

  23. Aske, and it shall be giuen you: seeke, and ye shall finde: knocke, and it shall be opened vnto you.

  24. For whosoeuer asketh, receiueth: and he, that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

  25. For what man is there among you, which if his sonne aske him bread, woulde giue him a stone?
