  1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers:

  2. But his delight is in the law of Jehovah; And on his law doth he meditate day and night.

  3. And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also doth not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

  4. The wicked are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

  5. Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

  6. For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous; But the way of the wicked shall perish.

  7. Jehovah trieth the righteous; But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

  8. From men by thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, whose portion is inthislife, And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure: They are satisfied with children, And leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

  9. As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with beholding thy form.

  10. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he that trusteth in Jehovah, lovingkindness shall compass him about.

  11. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; But Jehovah upholdeth the righteous.

  12. Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect; And their inheritance shall be for ever.

  13. They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil; And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

  14. But the wicked shall perish, And the enemies of Jehovah shall be as the fat of lambs: They shall consume; in smoke shall they consume away.

  15. The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again; But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.

  16. For such as are blessed of him shall inherit the land; And they that are cursed of him shall be cut off.

  17. Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright; For there is ahappyend to the man of peace.

  18. As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together: The end of the wicked shall be cut off.

  19. God setteth the solitary in families: He bringeth out the prisoners into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a parched land.

  20. Surely God is good to Israel, Evento such as are pure in heart.

  21. But as for me, my feet were almost gone; My steps had well nigh slipped.

  22. For I was envious at the arrogant, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

  23. For there are no pangs in their death; But their strength is firm.

  24. They are not in trouble asothermen; Neither are they plagued likeothermen.

  25. Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; Violence covereth them as a garment.
