  1. O the happiness of that one, who Hath not walked in the counsel of the wicked. And in the way of sinners hath not stood, And in the seat of scorners hath not sat;

  2. But--in the law of Jehovah is his delight, And in His law he doth meditate by day and by night:

  3. And he hath been as a tree, Planted by rivulets of water, That giveth its fruit in its season, And its leaf doth not wither, And all that he doth he causeth to prosper.

  4. Not so the wicked: But--as chaff that wind driveth away!

  5. Therefore the wicked rise not in judgment, Nor sinners in the company of the righteous,

  6. For Jehovah is knowing the way of the righteous, And the way of the wicked is lost!

  8. From men, Thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, their portion is in life, And with Thy hidden things Thou fillest their belly, They are satisfied with sons; And have left their abundance to their sucklings.

  9. I--in righteousness, I see Thy face; I am satisfied, in awaking, with Thy form!

  10. Many are the pains of the wicked; As to him who is trusting in Jehovah, Kindness doth compass him.

  11. For the arms of the wicked are shivered, And Jehovah is sustaining the righteous.

  12. Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect, And their inheritance is--to the age.

  13. They are not ashamed in a time of evil, And in days of famine they are satisfied.

  14. But the wicked perish, and the enemies of Jehovah, As the preciousness of lambs, Have been consumed, In smoke they have been consumed.

  15. The wicked is borrowing and repayeth not, And the righteous is gracious and giving.

  16. For His blessed ones do possess the land, And His reviled ones are cut off.

  17. Observe the perfect, and see the upright, For the latter end of each is peace.

  18. And transgressors were destroyed together, The latter end of the wicked was cut off.

  19. God--causing the lonely to dwell at home, Bringing out bound ones into prosperity, Only--the refractory have inhabited a dry place.

  22. The peace of the wicked I see, That there are no bands at their death,

  23. And their might is firm.

  24. In the misery of mortals they are not, And with common men they are not plagued.

  25. Therefore hath pride encircled them, Violence covereth them as a dress.
