  1. And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and made trial of him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

  11. And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

  12. Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat:

  13. but I made supplication for thee, that thy faith fail not; and do thou, when once thou hast turned again, establish thy brethren.

  14. And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

  15. and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.

  16. And during supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,

  17. These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be caused to stumble.

  18. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you shall think that he offereth service unto God.

  19. I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil one.

  20. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey the lusts thereof:

  21. neither present your members unto sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves unto God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

  22. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under law, but under grace.

  23. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were through the law, wrought in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

  24. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

  25. Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
