  1. And Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.

  7. Again it came to pass on the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before Jehovah, that Satan came also among them to present himself before Jehovah.

  8. And Jehovah said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered Jehovah, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

  9. And Jehovah said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job? for there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and turneth away from evil: and he still holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

  10. And Satan answered Jehovah, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

  11. And Jehovah said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thy hand; only spare his life.

  12. So Satan went forth from the presence of Jehovah, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

  13. Set thou a wicked man over him; And let an adversary stand at his right hand.

  14. And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of Jehovah, and Satan standing at his right hand to be his adversary.

  15. And Jehovah said unto Satan, Jehovah rebuke thee, O Satan; yea, Jehovah that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

  16. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

  17. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his teacher, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more them of his household!

  18. But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This man doth not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub the prince of the demons.

  19. and if Satan casteth out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand?

  20. And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.

  21. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art a stumbling-block unto me: for thou mindest not the things of God, but the things of men.

  22. And he was in the wilderness forty days tempted of Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

  23. And the scribes that came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and, By the prince of the demons casteth he out the demons.

  24. And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?

  25. And if Satan hath risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
