  1. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

  2. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

  3. nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  4. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

  5. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge ye this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock in his brother’s way, or an occasion of falling.

  6. For if because of meat thy brother is grieved, thou walkest no longer in love. Destroy not with thy meat him for whom Christ died.

  7. It is good not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything whereby thy brother stumbleth.

  8. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be by consent for a season, that ye may give yourselves unto prayer, and may be together again, that Satan tempt you not because of your incontinency.

  9. But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to the weak.

  10. For if a man see thee who hast knowledge sitting at meat in an idol’s temple, will not his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?

  11. For through thy knowledge he that is weak perisheth, the brother for whose sake Christ died.

  12. And thus, sinning against the brethren, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, ye sin against Christ.

  13. Wherefore, if meat causeth my brother to stumble, I will eat no flesh for evermore, that I cause not my brother to stumble.

  14. There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.

  15. But if any man say unto you, This hath been offered in sacrifice, eat not, for his sake that showed it, and for conscience’ sake:

  16. conscience, I say, not thine own, but the other’s; for why is my liberty judged by another conscience?

  17. If I partake with thankfulness, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

  18. Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

  19. Give no occasion of stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the church of God:

  20. Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

  21. that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

  22. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve in his craftiness, your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity and the purity that is toward Christ.

  23. And no marvel; for even Satan fashioneth himself into an angel of light.

  24. It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

  25. And by reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted overmuch, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, that I should not be exalted overmuch.
