  1. But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us.

  2. For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor might,

  3. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  4. Be not overcome by evil: but overcome evil by good.

  5. Let us not therefore judge one another any more. But judge this rather, that you put not a stumblingblock or a scandal in your brother's way.

  6. For if, because of thy meat, thy brother be grieved, thou walkest not now according to charity. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

  7. It is good not to eat flesh and not to drink wine: nor any thing whereby thy brother is offended or scandalized or made weak.

  8. Defraud not one another, except, perhaps, by consent, for a time, that you may give yourselves to prayer: and return together again, lest Satan tempt you for your incontinency.

  9. But take heed lest perhaps this your liberty become a stumblingblock to the weak.

  10. For if a man see him that hath knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not his conscience, being weak, be emboldened to eat those things which are sacrificed to idols?

  11. And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ hath died?

  12. Now when you sin thus against the brethren and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

  13. Wherefore, if meat scandalize my brother, I will never eat flesh, lest I should scandalize my brother.

  14. Let no temptation take hold on you, but such as is human. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able: but will make also with temptation issue, that you may be able to bear it.

  15. But if any man say: This has been sacrificed to idols: do not eat of it, for his sake that told it and for conscience' sake.

  16. Conscience I say, not thy own, but the other's. For why is my liberty judged by another man's conscience?

  17. If I partake with thanksgiving, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

  18. Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatsoever else you do, do all to the glory of God.

  19. Be without offence to the Jew, and to the Gentiles and to the church of God:

  20. Watch ye: stand fast in the faith: do manfully and be strengthened.

  21. That we be not overreached by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his devices.

  22. But I fear lest, as the serpent seduced Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted and fall from the simplicity that is in Christ.

  23. And no wonder: for Satan himself transformeth himself into an angel of light.

  24. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers be transformed as the ministers of justice, whose end shall be according to their works.

  25. And lest the greatness of the revelations should exalt me, there was given me a sting of my flesh, an angel of Satan, to buffet me.
