  1. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; he will come and save you.

  9. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

  10. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.

  11. And when the day of Pentecost was now come, they were all together in one place.

  12. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

  13. And there appeared unto them tongues parting asunder, like as of fire; and it sat upon each one of them.

  14. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  15. Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

  16. Now when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,

  17. But Peter said unto him, Thy silver perish with thee, because thou hast thought to obtain the gift of God with money.

  18. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them that heard the word.

  19. And they of the circumcision that believed were amazed, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit.

  20. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

  21. Long time therefore they tarried there speaking boldly in the Lord, who bare witness unto the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

  22. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

  23. in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and round about even unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ;

  24. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

  25. And there are diversities of ministrations, and the same Lord.
