  1. Therefore he says, “When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.”

  2. from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.

  3. if indeed you heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Yeshua:

  4. that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man, that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit;

  5. and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

  6. and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

  7. Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Messiah will shine on you.”

  8. being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Yeshua the Messiah.

  9. in whom you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Messiah;

  10. having been buried with him in immersion, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

  11. You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

  12. Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings,

  13. and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,

  14. But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth;

  15. not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the mikveh of rebirth and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

  16. whom he poured out on us richly, through Yeshua the Messiah our Savior;

  17. Let us fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest.

  18. For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard didn’t profit them, because it wasn’t mixed with faith by those who heard.

  19. For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest”; although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

  20. For he has said this somewhere about the seventh day, “God rested on the seventh day from all his works”;

  21. and in this place again, “They will not enter into my rest.”

  22. Seeing therefore it remains that some should enter therein, and they to whom the good news was before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,

  23. he again defines a certain day, today, saying through David so long a time afterward (just as has been said), “Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.”

  24. For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.

  25. There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
