Bible Verses About Regeneration
Key Bible Verses
Wherefore he saith: Ascending on high, he led captivity captive: he gave gifts to men.
From whom the whole body, being compacted and fitly joined together, by what every joint supplieth, according to the operation in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body, unto the edifying of itself in charity.
If so be that you have heard him and have been taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus:
To put off, according to former conversation, the old man, who is corrupted according to the desire of error.
And be renewed in spirit of your mind:
And put on the new man, who according to God is created in justice and holiness of truth.
Wherefore he saith: Rise, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead: and Christ shall enlighten thee.
Being confident of this very thing: that he who hath begun a good work in you will perfect it unto the day of Christ Jesus.
In whom also you are circumcised with circumcision not made by hand in despoiling of the body of the flesh: but in the circumcision of Christ.
Buried with him in baptism: in whom also you are risen again by the faith of the operation of God who hath raised him up from the dead.
And you, when you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he hath quickened together with him, forgiving you all offences:
Lie not one to another: stripping yourselves of the old man with his deeds,
And putting on the new, him who is renewed unto knowledge, according to the image of him that created him.
Whereunto also he hath called you by our gospel, unto the purchasing of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Not by the works of justice which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, by the laver of regeneration and renovation of the Holy Ghost.
Whom he hath poured forth upon us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour:
Let us fear therefore lest, the promise being left of entering into his rest, any of you should be thought to be wanting.
For unto us also it hath been declared in like manner as unto them. But the word of hearing did not profit them, not being mixed with faith of those things they heard.
For we, who have believed, shall enter into rest; as he said: As I have sworn in my wrath: If they shall enter into my rest; and this indeed when the works from the foundation of the world were finished.
For in a certain place he spoke of the seventh day thus: And God rested the seventh day from all his works.
And in this place again: If they shall enter into my rest.
Seeing then it remaineth that some are to enter into it, and they to whom it was first preached did not enter because of unbelief:
Again he limiteth a certain day, saying in David; To day, after so long a time as it is above said: To day if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
For if Jesus had given them rest he would never have afterwards spoken of another day.
There remaineth therefore a day of rest for the people of God.
