  1. For he that is entered into his rest, the same also hath rested from his works, as God did from his.

  2. Let us hasten therefore to enter into that rest: lest any man fall into the same example of unbelief.

  3. For the word of God is living and effectual and more piercing than any two edged sword; and reaching unto the division of the soul and the spirit, of the joints also and the marrow: and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

  4. For this is the testament which I will make to the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my laws into their mind: and in their heart will I write them. And I will be their God: and they shall be my people.

  5. And they shall not teach every man his neighbour and every man his brother, saying: Know the Lord. For all shall know me, from the least to the greatest of them.

  6. And this is the testament which I will make unto them after those days, saith the Lord. I will give my laws in their hearts and on their minds will I write them:

  7. And their sins and iniquities I will remember no more.

  8. Let us draw near with a true heart, in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with clean water.

  9. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering (for he is faithful that hath promised):

  10. For of his own will hath he begotten us by the word of truth, that we might be some beginning of his creature.

  11. My brethren, if any of you err from the truth and one convert him:

  12. He must know that he who causeth a sinner to be converted from the error of his way shall save his soul from death and shall cover a multitude of sins.

  13. According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, unto the sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.

  14. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy hath regenerated us unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead:

  15. Purifying your souls in the obedience of charity, with a brotherly love, from a sincere heart love one another earnestly:

  16. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible, by the word of God who liveth and remaineth for ever.

  17. If so be you have tasted that the Lord is sweet.

  18. But you are a chosen generation, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

  19. As all things of his divine power which appertain to life and godliness are given us through the knowledge of him who hath called us by his own proper glory and virtue.

  20. By whom he hath given us most great and precious promises: that by these you may be made partakers of the divine nature: flying the corruption of that concupiscence which is in the world.

  21. And as for you, let the unction, which you have received from him abide in you. And you have no need that any man teach you: but as his unction teacheth you of all things and is truth and is no lie. And as it hath taught you, abide in him.

  22. If you know that he is just, know ye, that every one also who doth justice is born of him.

  23. Whosoever is born of God committeth not sin: for his seed abideth in him. And he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

  24. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not abideth in death.

  25. Dearly beloved, let us love one another: for charity is of God. And every one that loveth is born of God and knoweth God.
