  1. For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His.

  2. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.

  3. For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

  4. For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds and inscribe them on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people.

  5. No longer will each one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest.

  6. “This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord. I will put My laws in their hearts and inscribe them on their minds.”

  7. Then He adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”

  8. let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

  9. Let us hold resolutely to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.

  10. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of His creation.

  11. My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back,

  12. consider this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

  13. according to the foreknowledge of God the Father and sanctified by the Spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by His blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.

  14. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

  15. Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth so that you have a genuine love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from a pure heart.

  16. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

  17. now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

  18. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

  19. His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

  20. Through these He has given us His precious and magnificent promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, now that you have escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

  21. And as for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But just as His true and genuine anointing teaches you about all things, so remain in Him as you have been taught.

  22. If you know that He is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of Him.

  23. Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

  24. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. The one who does not love remains in death.

  25. Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
