  1. For he that is entred into his rest, hath also ceased from his owne works, as God did from his.

  2. Let vs studie therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same ensample of disobedience.

  3. For the worde of God is liuely, and mightie in operation, and sharper then any two edged sword, and entreth through, euen vnto the diuiding asunder of the soule and the spirit, and of the ioints, and the marow, and is a discerner of the thoughtes, and the intents of the heart.

  4. For this is the Testament that I will make with the house of Israel, After those dayes, saith the Lord, I will put my Lawes in their minde, and in their heart I will write them, and I wil be their God, and they shalbe my people,

  5. And they shall not teache euery man his neighbour and euery man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall knowe me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.

  6. This is the Testament that I will make vnto them after those dayes, sayth the Lord, I wil put my Lawes in their heart, and in their mindes I will write them.

  7. And their sinnes and iniquities will I remember no more.

  8. Let vs drawe neere with a true heart in assurance of faith, our hearts being pure from an euill conscience,

  9. And washed in our bodies with pure water, let vs keepe the profession of our hope, without wauering, (for he is faithfull that promised)

  10. Of his owne will begate hee vs with the woorde of trueth, that we shoulde be as the first fruites of his creatures.

  11. Brethren, if any of you hath erred from the trueth, and some man hath conuerted him,

  12. Let him know that he which hath conuerted the sinner from going astray out of his way, shall saue a soule from death, and shall hide a multitude of sinnes.

  13. Elect according to the foreknowledge of God ye Father vnto sanctification of ye Spirit, through obedience and sprinkeling of the blood of Iesus Christ: Grace and peace bee multiplied vnto you.

  14. Blessed bee God, euen the Father of our Lord Iesus Christ, which according to his aboundant mercie hath begotten vs againe vnto a liuely hope by the resurrection of Iesus Christ from the dead,

  15. Hauing purified your soules in obeying the trueth through the spirite, to loue brotherly without faining, loue one another with a pure heart feruently,

  16. Being borne anewe, not of mortall seede, but of immortall, by the woorde of God, who liueth and endureth for euer.

  17. Because yee haue tasted that the Lord is bountifull.

  18. But yee are a chosen generation, a royall Priesthoode, an holy nation, a people set at libertie, that yee shoulde shewe foorth the vertues of him that hath called you out of darkenesse into his marueilous light,

  19. According as his diuine power hath giuen vnto vs all things that perteine vnto life and godlinesse, through the acknowledging of him that hath called vs vnto glory and vertue.

  20. Whereby most great and precious promises are giuen vnto vs, that by them ye should be partakers of the diuine nature, in that ye flee the corruption, which is in the worlde through lust.

  21. But that anointing which ye receiued of him, dwelleth in you: and ye neede not that any man teach you: but as the same Anoynting teacheth you of all things, and it is true, and is not lying, and as it taught you, ye shall abide in him.

  22. If ye know that he is righteous, know ye that he which doeth righteously, is borne of him.

  23. Whosoeuer is borne of God, sinneth not: for his seede remaineth in him, neither can hee sinne, because he is borne of God.

  24. We know that we are translated from death vnto life, because we loue the brethren: he that loueth not his brother, abideth in death.

  25. Beloued, let vs loue one another: for loue commeth of God, and euery one that loueth, is borne of God, and knoweth God.
