  1. For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.

  2. Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.

  3. For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.

  4. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel After those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, And on their heart also will I write them: And I will be to them a God, And they shall be to me a people:

  5. And they shall not teach every man his fellow-citizen, And every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: For all shall know me, From the least to the greatest of them.

  6. This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws on their heart, And upon their mind also will I write them; then saith he,

  7. And their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

  8. let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience: and having our body washed with pure water,

  9. let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised:

  10. Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

  11. My brethren, if any among you err from the truth, and one convert him;

  12. let him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.

  13. according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

  14. Blessedbethe God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

  15. Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from the heart fervently:

  16. having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which liveth and abideth.

  17. if ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious:

  18. But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

  19. seeing that his divine power hath granted unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue;

  20. whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.

  21. And as for you, the anointing which ye received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any one teach you; but as his anointing teacheth you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, ye abide in him.

  22. If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one also that doeth righteousness is begotten of him.

  23. Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abideth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of God.

  24. We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not abideth in death.

  25. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God.
