  1. King Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion Geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Sea of Suf, in the land of Edom.

  2. “You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Sea of Suf,

  3. and showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, and against all his servants, and against all the people of his land; for you knew that they dealt proudly against them, and made a name for yourself, as it is this day.

  10. He rebuked the Sea of Suf also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert.

  11. He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

  12. The waters covered their adversaries. There was not one of them left.

  13. Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome things by the Sea of Suf.

  14. To him who divided the Sea of Suf apart; for his loving kindness endures forever;

  15. And made Israel to pass through its midst; for his loving kindness endures forever;

  16. But overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Sea of Suf; for his loving kindness endures forever:

  17. Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

  18. who brings out the chariot and horse, the army and the mighty man (they lie down together, they shall not rise; they are extinct, they are quenched like a wick):

  19. This man led them out, having worked wonders and signs in Egypt, in the Sea of Suf, and in the wilderness for forty years.

  20. Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

  21. and were all immersed into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

  22. By faith, they passed through the Sea of Suf as on dry land. When the Egyptians tried to do so, they were swallowed up.
