  1. Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and said, “I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.

  2. He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the Sea of Suf.

  3. Who is like you, LORD, among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

  4. For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the midst of the sea.

  5. They traveled from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness. They went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.

  6. and what he did to the army of Egypt, to their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Sea of Suf to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD has destroyed them to this day;

  7. For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Sea of Suf before you, when you came out of Egypt; and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and to Og, whom you utterly destroyed.

  8. For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan from before you, until you had passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Sea of Suf, which he dried up from before us, until we had passed over;

  9. I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and you came to the sea. The Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and with horsemen to the Sea of Suf.

  10. When they cried out to the LORD, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea on them, and covered them; and your eyes saw what I did in Egypt: and you lived in the wilderness many days.

  11. but when they came up from Egypt, and Israel went through the wilderness to the Sea of Suf, and came to Kadesh;

  12. Then the channels of the sea appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare by the rebuke of the LORD, At the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

  13. “You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Sea of Suf,

  14. and showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, and against all his servants, and against all the people of his land; for you knew that they dealt proudly against them, and made a name for yourself, as it is this day.

  15. You divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and you cast their pursuers into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters.

  16. He turned the sea into dry land. They went through the river on foot. There, we rejoiced in him.

  17. He split the sea, and caused them to pass through. He made the waters stand as a heap.

  18. He led them safely, so that they weren’t afraid, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

  19. Our fathers didn’t understand your wonders in Egypt. They didn’t remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Sea of Suf.

  20. Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power known.

  21. He rebuked the Sea of Suf also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert.

  22. He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

  23. The waters covered their adversaries. There was not one of them left.

  24. Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome things by the Sea of Suf.

  25. To him who divided the Sea of Suf apart; for his loving kindness endures forever;
