  1. As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

  10. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

  11. And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

  12. From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

  13. Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

  14. Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

  15. For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

  16. Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

  17. But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.

  18. For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:

  19. Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:

  20. For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

  21. For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

  22. Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

  23. Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

  24. Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

  25. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
