Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened [bread] of sincerity and truth.

¶ Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
¶ And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in [his] words.
Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

Why do ye not understand my speech? [even] because ye cannot hear my word.
And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.
¶ But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in [yourselves], neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
¶ Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
¶ After two days was [the feast of] the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put [him] to death.
And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
