  1. `No,' they replied, `there may not be enough for both you and us. Go to the oil dealers and buy some for yourselves.'

  2. But as they were going off to buy, the bridegroom came. Those who were ready went with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut.

  3. Later, the other bridesmaids came. `Sir! Sir!' they cried, `Let us in!'

  4. But he answered, `Indeed! I tell you, I don't know you!'

  5. So stay alert, because you know neither the day nor the hour.

  6. Also the graves were opened, and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life;

  7. and after Yeshua rose, they came out of the graves and went into the holy city, where many people saw them.

  8. Then some Tz'dukim came to him. They are the ones who say there is no such thing as resurrection, so they put to him a sh'eilah:

  9. "Rabbi, Moshe wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no child, his brother must take the wife and have children to preserve the man's family line.

  10. There were seven brothers. The first one took a wife, and when he died, he left no children.

  11. Then the second one took her and died without leaving children, and the third likewise,

  12. and none of the seven left children. Last of all, the woman also died.

  13. In the Resurrection, whose wife will she be? For all seven had her as wife."

  14. Yeshua said to them, "Isn't this the reason that you go astray? because you are ignorant both of the Tanakh and of the power of God?

  15. For when people rise from the dead, neither men nor women marry -- they are like angels in heaven.

  16. And as for the dead being raised, haven't you read in the book of Moshe, in the passage about the bush, how God said to him, `I am the God of Avraham, the God of Yitz'chak and the God of Ya`akov'?

  17. He is God not of the dead, but of the living! You are going far astray!"

  18. How blessed you will be that they have nothing with which to repay you! For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

  19. Some Tz’dukim, who say there is no resurrection, came to Yeshua

  20. and put to him a sh’eilah: “Rabbi, Moshe wrote for us that if a man dies leaving a wife but no children, his brother must take the wife and have children to preserve the man’s family line.

  23. and third took her, and likewise all seven, but they all died without leaving children.

  24. Lastly, the woman also died.

  25. In the Resurrection, which one’s wife will she be? For all seven were married to her.”
