  6. So now, children, listen to me; pay attention to what I am saying.

  7. Don't let your heart turn to her ways; don't stray onto her paths.

  8. For many are those she has struck down dead, numerous those she has killed.

  9. Her house is the way to Sh'ol; it leads down to the halls of death.

  10. The foolish woman is coarse; she doesn't think, and she doesn't know a thing.

  11. She sits at the door of her house or on a seat at the heights of the city,

  12. calling to those who pass by, to those going straight along their ways,

  13. "Whoever is unsure of himself, turn in here!"To someone weak-willed she says,

  14. "Stolen water is sweet; food eaten in secret is pleasant."

  15. But he doesn't realize that the dead are there, and that those who accept her invitation are in the depths of Sh'ol.

  16. Three things are too wonderful for me, four beyond my knowledge

  17. the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship on the open sea, and the way of a man with a girl.

  18. This is how an unfaithful wife behaves: she eats, wipes her mouth, and says, "I did nothing wrong."

  19. For from within, out of a person's heart, come forth wicked thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,

  20. greed, malice, deceit, indecency, envy, slander, arrogance, foolishness...

  21. All these wicked things come from within, and they make a person unclean."

  22. Claiming to be wise, they have become fools!

  23. In fact, they have exchanged the glory of the immortal God for mere images, like a mortal human being, or like birds, animals or reptiles!

  24. This is why God has given them up to the vileness of their hearts’ lusts, to the shameful misuse of each other’s bodies.

  25. They have exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, by worshipping and serving created things, rather than the Creator — praised be he for ever. Amen.
