  1. Know now that God hath subverted me in my cause, And hath compassed me with his net.

  13. When he giveth quietness, who then can condemn? And when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? Alike whether it be done unto a nation, or unto a man:

  14. But none saith, Where is God my Maker, Who giveth songs in the night,

  15. Jehovah also will be a high tower for the oppressed, A high tower in times of trouble;

  16. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; For thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

  17. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou sofar from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

  18. O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not; And in the night season, and am not silent.

  19. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

  20. For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion: In the covert of his tabernacle will he hide me; He will lift me up upon a rock.

  21. And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; And I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto Jehovah.

  22. For his anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a life-time: Weeping may tarry for the night, But joy cometh in the morning.

  23. I will be glad and rejoice in thy lovingkindness; For thou hast seen my affliction: Thou hast known my soul in adversities;

  24. I sought Jehovah, and he answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.

  25. Many are the afflictions of the righteous; But Jehovah delivereth him out of them all.
