And they came and besieged him in Abel of Bethmaachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that [were] with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.
And they came {H935} and besieged {H6696} him in Abel {H59} of Bethmaachah {H1038}, and they cast up {H8210} a bank {H5550} against the city {H5892}, and it stood {H5975} in the trench {H2426}: and all the people {H5971} that were with Joab {H3097} battered {H7843} the wall {H2346}, to throw it down {H5307}.
Yo'av's troops came and put him under siege in Avel of Beit-Ma'akhah - they put up a ramp in the moat against the city wall; and all the people with Yo'av battered the wall in order to bring it down.
And Joab’s troops came and besieged Sheba in Abel-beth-maacah and built a siege ramp against the outer rampart of the city. As all the troops with Joab were battering the wall to topple it,
