  1. For the Son of Man goes, even as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born.”

  11. When they didn’t find him, they returned to Jerusalem, looking for him.

  12. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the rabbis, both listening to them, and asking them questions.

  13. All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

  14. When they saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”

  15. He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

  16. They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.

  17. The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.

  18. He sent Peter and Yochanan, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”

  19. They said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare?”

  20. He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.

  21. Tell the master of the house, ‘The Rabbi says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

  22. He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there.”

  23. They went, found things as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

  24. When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve emissaries.

  25. He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,
