  1. For the Son of Man will die, just as the Tanakh says he will; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for him had he never been born!"

  2. While they were eating, Yeshua took a piece of matzah, made the b'rakhah, broke it, gave it to them and said, "Take it! This is my body."

  3. Also he took a cup of wine, made the b'rakhah, and gave it to them; and they all drank.

  4. He said to them, "This is my blood, which ratifies the New Covenant, my blood shed on behalf of many people.

  6. Now during a festival, Pilate used to set free one prisoner, whomever the crowd requested.

  7. Every year Yeshua's parents went to Yerushalayim for the festival of Pesach.

  8. When he was twelve years old, they went up for the festival, as custom required.

  9. But after the festival was over, when his parents returned, Yeshua remained in Yerushalayim. They didn't realize this;

  10. supposing that he was somewhere in the caravan, they spent a whole day on the road before they began searching for him among their relatives and friends.

  11. Failing to find him, they returned to Yerushalayim to look for him.

  12. On the third day they found him -- he was sitting in the Temple court among the rabbis, not only listening to them but questioning what they said;

  13. and everyone who heard him was astonished at his insight and his responses.

  14. When his parents saw him, they were shocked; and his mother said to him, "Son! Why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been terribly worried looking for you!"

  15. He said to them, "Why did you have to look for me? Didn't you know that I had to be concerning myself with my Father's affairs?"

  16. But they didn't understand what he meant.

  17. Then came the day of matzah, on which the Passover lamb had to be killed.

  18. Yeshua sent Kefa and Yochanan, instructing them, “Go and prepare our Seder, so we can eat.”

  19. They asked him, “Where do you want us to prepare it?”

  20. He told them, “As you’re going into the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house he enters,

  21. and say to its owner, ‘The Rabbi says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I am to eat the Pesach meal with my talmidim?” ’

  22. He will show you a large room upstairs already furnished; make the preparations there.”

  23. They went and found things just as Yeshua had told them they would be, and they prepared for the Seder.

  24. When the time came, Yeshua and the emissaries reclined at the table,

  25. and he said to them, “I have really wanted so much to celebrate this Seder with you before I die!
