  1. And the Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man shall be betrayed. It were better for him, if that man had not been born.

  2. And whilst they were eating, Jesus took bread; and blessing, broke and gave to them and said: Take ye. This is my body.

  3. And having taken the chalice, giving thanks, he gave it to them. And they all drank of it.

  9. And having fulfilled the days, when they returned, the child Jesus remained in Jerusalem. And his parents knew it not.

  10. And thinking that he was in the company, they came a day's journey and sought him among their kinsfolks and acquaintance.

  11. And not finding him, they returned into Jerusalem, seeking him.

  12. And it came to pass, that, after three days, they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, hearing them and asking them questions.

  13. And all that heard him were astonished at his wisdom and his answers.

  14. And seeing him, they wondered. And his mother said to him: Son, why hast thou done so to us? Behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

  15. And he said to them: How is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be about my father's business?

  16. And they understood not the word that he spoke unto them.

  17. And the day of the unleavened bread came, on which it was necessary that the pasch should be killed.

  18. And he sent Peter and John, saying: Go, and prepare for us the pasch, that we may eat.

  19. But they said: Where wilt thou that we prepare?

  20. And he said to them: Behold, as you go into the city, there shall meet you a man carrying a pitcher of water: follow him into the house where he entereth in.

  21. And you shall say to the goodman of the house: The master saith to thee: Where is the guest chamber, where I may eat the pasch with my disciples?

  22. And he will shew you a large dining room, furnished. And there prepare.

  23. And they going, found as he had said to them and made ready the pasch.

  24. And when the hour was come, he sat down: and the twelve apostles with him.

  25. And he said to them: With desire I have desired to eat this pasch with you, before I suffer.
