  1. But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Yeshua wasn’t yet glorified.

  2. I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever,—

  3. the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive; for it doesn’t see him, neither knows him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.

  4. Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.

  5. When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;

  6. about sin, because they don’t believe in me;

  7. about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won’t see me any more;

  8. about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.

  9. “I have yet many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.

  10. However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.

  11. He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you.

  12. Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

  13. Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them.

  14. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.

  15. But Peter said, “Hananiah, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

  16. While you kept it, didn’t it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn’t it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven’t lied to men, but to God.”

  17. who, when they had come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit;

  18. for as yet he had fallen on none of them. They had only been immersed in the name of Messiah Yeshua.

  19. Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

  20. Now when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the emissaries’ hands, he offered them money,

  21. saying, “Give me also this power, that whomever I lay my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”

  22. But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!

  23. You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart isn’t right before God.

  24. Repent therefore of this, your wickedness, and ask God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

  25. While Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men seek you.
